Building spaces and empowering young people with skills development through mentorship, leadership programs, and community outreach across Tanzania.
TENGENEZA GENERATION (TEG) is a youth-centered organization registered in 2014, dedicated to empowering young people through sustainable development initiatives.
To transform the lives of young people in communities adjacent to forest reserves through integrated programs that build sustainable livelihoods, education, and promote active environmental conservation.
An empowered community that uses local resources to improve livelihoods and forest well-being sustainably.
We engage with communities through a holistic approach that integrates creativity, skills development, education, capacity building, and environmental initiatives to foster positive changes in our societies.
Conserving biological diversity through communities adjacent to Eastern Arc Mountains. Creating seed banks, restoration programs, and archiving endemic species like the three-horned chameleon and African violets.
Empowering young people with entrepreneurship skills, alternative sources of finance, and village savings and loans association education. Supporting sustainable enterprises that increase individual income from $0 to $100+ per month.
To contribute to sustainable development through youth active participation and innovation across our thematic areas.
Support our existing programs by expanding into new regions and including new initiatives. Increase income to 1,000 young people (20% young mothers) by providing $300 per business through seed capital and creating resource centers to educate entrepreneurs.
Creating restoration programs, seed banks, and behavior change campaigns. Archiving and documentation of biodiversity and culture, including endemic species and indigenous community stories on culture and conservation.
Artists collaborate with communities to document forest protection stories and joint patrols with game reserves across 3 nature reserves. Artworks featured in advocacy campaigns, fundraising events, and reports by Tanzania government, FAO and PANORAMA.
Through partnership and collaboration, we've learned that young people face hardships due to limited livelihood skills. Together, we're building knowledge and skills for income generation and self-employment. At TEG, we believe in partnership which is why we work with NGOs, government institutions, private sector and community groups.
